What is Medical Detox?

Medical detox is the first and most critical phase of recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The body needs time to clear the substance — and depending on what was used and how long, withdrawal can be uncomfortable, dangerous, or even life-threatening if attempted alone.

Detox and residential care are delivered through Reggie's Recovery — the inpatient division of Reggie's Recovery Center. Our medical detox program provides round-the-clock nursing supervision, evidence-based comfort medications, and the calming environment of a luxury home — so you can focus on healing, not suffering.

Conditions We Treat

Our medical team is equipped to safely detox clients from a wide range of substances, including:

  • Alcohol
  • Opioids (heroin, fentanyl, oxycodone, hydrocodone)
  • Benzodiazepines (Xanax, Valium, Klonopin)
  • Stimulants (cocaine, methamphetamine)
  • Prescription medications
  • Polysubstance use

What to Expect

Most detox programs last between 5 and 10 days, depending on the substance, length of use, and individual health factors. During your stay, you can expect:

  • Initial medical assessment — bloodwork, vitals, mental health screening
  • Personalized detox plan — comfort medications and tapering protocols designed for you
  • 24/7 nursing care — vital sign monitoring and immediate response to discomfort
  • Private accommodations — luxury bedrooms with spa-style bathrooms
  • Nutrition support — chef-prepared meals to rebuild physical health
  • Therapeutic introduction — light counseling once medically stable
  • Seamless transition — into our residential program when you're ready
The first 72 hours are the hardest. Our job is to make them as easy as humanly possible — so you can get to the work of recovery.
